John graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Leeds, UK. He was subsequently admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2014 and also in the High Court of Sabah & Sarawak in Sabah in 2018 (non-practicing).
He was previously a Legal Assistant at Messrs John Yong & Irene Song before founding John Wong Associates in May 2023, and subsequently merging with Tan & Khong Chambers in October 2024. John was formerly a member of the Gender Equality & Sustainable Development Goals subcommittee and Human Rights and Environment subcommittee of the Selangor Bar from 2021-2022, and a member of the Environment & Gender Equality subcommittee of the Selangor Bar from 2022-2023. He was also previously appointed as an Assistant Registrar of voters by the Election Commission prior to the introduction of automatic voters registration. John's focal practice areas are especially in corporate and conveyancing, where he has the experience to navigate through an intricate web of commercial and legal transactions with ease.
